Freshly poured concrete slab next to a villa in Moraira

A concrete driveway in Spain has to cope with heavy sun, sudden autumn downpours and, on this coast, often a steep slope. The same goes for patios, terraces and the slab under a garden room or summer house. We pump the concrete to the exact spot, level it and finish it, for builders, pool contractors and owners. One point of contact talks to you, your builder and the Spanish concrete plant, and you get one fixed price.

Concrete driveways

A pumped concrete driveway is one solid slab that takes the weight of cars and copes with steep villa entrances.

Many Costa Blanca villas have a short, steep drive from the road to the carport or garage. A brushed finish gives grip on a slope, a power floated finish looks smart on a flat parking area, and stamped concrete gives the look of stone. Falls and drainage are set before the pour so rainwater runs away from the house rather than towards it. Synthetic fibres can go into the mix to help control surface cracking.

Patios and terraces

A concrete patio or terrace gives you a large, flat outdoor area with no loose slabs to rock or sink.

On a sloping plot the patio is often on a lower or upper level, behind the house, or round the pool. That is where a pump earns its keep. The mixer lorry stays on the road, the pump stands next to it and up to 400 metres of line goes through the gate and round to the terrace. For really tight sites see our mini concrete pump for narrow access. For a decorative surface see stamped concrete.

Foundations, footings and floor slabs

We pump concrete for foundations, footings and ground floor slabs for villas, extensions, garages and garden buildings.

Footings and walls need the concrete compacted properly, so we can bring a poker vibrator to knock out trapped air. For floor slabs we offer laser levelling, so the surface is flat enough for the next stage. Our pump delivers up to 35 m³ an hour, around 130 m³ in a normal day, so a full villa ground floor goes in one pour without cold joints.

Don and Oliver were awesome, on time, excellent clean up and they clearly know what they are doing. Highly recommend and will have them back for some other work in the future

Bases for sheds, garden rooms and casitas

A small concrete base is quick to pump and gives a level, solid floor for a shed, garden room or casita.

These jobs are often only a few cubic metres, but the base is usually at the far end of the garden. Barrowing it can take most of a day. With a pump it is often done in under an hour. One customer had us pour the foundation and floor for his garden house, and wrote in his review that everything was cleaned up afterwards.

Finishes

We finish concrete power floated, polished or brushed, or as stamped concrete.

  • Brushed: a broom finish that gives grip, ideal for sloping drives and paths.
  • Power floated: smooth and dense, for garages, carports and floors.
  • Polished: a smooth, sleek surface for covered areas and interiors.
  • Stamped: a pattern pressed in to look like stone or tiles.

Working with your builder, or directly with you

We can pump for your builder on the day, or quote and organise the pour with you directly.

If you have a builder doing the groundwork and formwork, we fit into their schedule. If you are running the job yourself, we help you work out the volume and timing and give you a fixed price. Usually we can book you in within three working days. See how the price is built up on our concrete pump prices page, or send your details through the quote form.

Driveways and patios: common questions

How thick should a concrete driveway be?

That depends on the ground and what drives on it. We agree the right thickness with you or your builder before we quote, so the volume and price are correct.

How do I work out how much concrete I need?

Multiply length by width by thickness in metres. A patio of 6 by 5 metres at 10 cm thick needs 3 m³. We add a small margin when we order.

Can you pump to a patio behind my house?

Yes. We run up to 400 metres of line and pump up to 50 metres high, so back gardens and lower terraces are normal work for us.

Do you also lay the concrete or just pump it?

We pump and place the concrete and can finish it, including laser levelling and brushed, power floated or polished finishes. We agree exactly who does what before the day.

Do you leave the site clean?

Yes. We wash out the pump and lines and clean the street and drive before we leave.
